Data We Collect

We collect only what is needed to run the website, support players, and operate Backwater Outlaws services.

• Contact and bug reports: name, email, subject, message, optional device details, optional screenshot or clip link, page URL, and browser user agent.
• Leaderboards: player display name, score, category, period, submitted time, app version, platform, and limited gameplay metadata needed to rank and validate scores.
• Website and server logs: IP address, request time, requested page or file, browser details, and basic error logs generated by the hosting server.
• Live content checks: app version and basic request information needed to deliver public manifest data and compatibility messages.

Guest Play and Google Play

Backwater Outlaws is intended to be playable in guest mode without creating an Iron Creek Studio account. If you choose to use Google Play features such as Google Play Games, Play Billing, Play Integrity, or app links, Google may process data under Google's own policies. Google Play purchases are handled by Google; Iron Creek Studio does not receive your full payment card number.

How We Use Data

• To provide downloads, website pages, live content, support, and bug-response workflows.
• To display paged public leaderboard results, including display names, ranks, scores, categories, and submission times.
• To prevent abuse, investigate crashes or suspicious score submissions, secure the website, and maintain service reliability.
• To respond to player questions, support requests, legal requests, or safety issues.

Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We may share data with hosting, database, security, or support providers that help operate the site and game services; with Google Play services used by the Android app; or when required for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or safety reasons. Leaderboard display names and scores are public when submitted to public leaderboard categories.

Security

We use HTTPS for the public website, restrict database access to server-side services, and limit API responses so public leaderboard requests return paged results instead of full database dumps. No internet service can be guaranteed completely secure, but we use reasonable safeguards for the size and stage of the game.

Retention and Deletion

Contact and bug reports are kept as long as needed for support, launch operations, and abuse prevention. Leaderboard entries may remain while public leaderboards are active. Server logs are kept for operational troubleshooting and security review. To request deletion or correction of data submitted to Iron Creek Studio, use the Backwater Outlaws account and data deletion page and include enough information for us to locate the record. Google account and Google Play profile deletion are handled through Google.

Children

Iron Creek Studio does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child provided personal information to us, contact us and we will review and delete it where required.

Your Choices

• You can play in guest mode if you do not want to submit a public leaderboard identity.
• You can avoid public leaderboard submission or choose a display name that does not identify you personally.
• You can use /delete-account/ to request access, correction, or deletion of data we control.
